The location was ideal for us. We went there to see folks who lived two miles away. It was clean and comfy. I would have like more than four glasses and four pieces of cutlery. We had to wash dishes all the time. We needed dish cloths and something to wash the dishes with. It may have just been an oversight. They could certainly stare up at those ceiling fans. They were dirty, so I had to clean them. It would also be wonderful to have some seats to sit on outdoors. Overall, it was peaceful and pleasant. Would stay there again Display more Display less

This Hammond hotel is 45 minutes southeast of downtown Chicago, just off the Interstate 80/94 intersection. It has rooms with cable television. Every room at the Motel 6 Hammond Chicago Area has a work desk and a phone with free local calls. All rooms offer wood-effect flooring and Wi-Fi internet connection. The carpet was filthy to the point of being blue around the baseboards and crusted black in the centre. My shoes were never removed. I chose to leave them there out of concern of introducing sickness into my house when I returned. When I finally got the door to close correctly, there was a 1/2" gap between the door and the jam where the wind blasted through. This wasn't really a terrible thing...at least I got some fresh air.

The hotel is less than 1.5 kilometers from Hammond Square Mall. The main center of Hammond is about a 5-minute drive away. We were just there for a few hours!
