Given the present state of affairs in the United States and throughout the globe as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak, the safety of our visitors and employees is our top concern. All of our personnel are tested everyday before going to work and are required to use and wear PPE equipment throughout their shifts. The crew has improved its cleaning methods to guarantee that we are helping to limit the rise for new cases and to do our bit in trying to halt the epidemic. We are taking additional precautions at the hotel to restrict the amount of interaction our guests have with one another. To comply with the new CDC Guidelines, our hot breakfast has been replaced with a grab-and-go packed meal. Our gratis DVD and bicycle services are now on hold. The WiFi and TV also functioned great for me. My credit card was accepted without issue by the hotel.

Hotel Elliott is situated in the historic core of Astoria, Oregon, across from the Liberty Theater and overlooking the Columbia River. At the resort, visitors may select between suites or deluxe rooms, however some say the rooms are a little tiny. All of the rooms have a warm color scheme of gold, crimson, tan, and mocha. Astoria offers several historic structures as well as an outstanding museum—the Columbia River Maritime Museum is well worth a visit. Much to my surprise, my 11-year-old granddaughter appreciated it. The displays are well-thought-out, particularly the 44' US Coast Guard Motor Lifeboat exhibition. A visit to the Astoria Column is highly recommended. Climb the 164 steps to the summit for a spectacular view of the Columbia River, ships, and the State of Washington on the other coast. There are several stores, restaurants, and bistros to pick from. Astoria Plaza pioneered the unusual notion of having privately-owned homes placed inside a luxurious hotel under one property name when it opened its doors in 2001. We established Astoria Boracay, our first excursion into resort building and management, after a decade of providing great hotel service. The success of these two hotels resulted in the formation of Astoria Hotels & Resorts (AHR). We booked late and had a "view" room with a poor view. The upstairs rooms have the best views. There was a strong pet odor from the moment we walked in. We don't have pets, so that put us off. The area seemed to be clean overall, but the cloth on the chairs near the table was dirty and needed to be washed. The screen door had been torn. There was no hot water when we attempted to shower three times. We had to phone the front desk three times to have it "reset." There was no apology, and we were nearly late for our dinner appointment. Someone decided to take a shower in the middle of the night, and it was so loud that it woke us up.
