Spider Gwen Guilty K

It's been 42 years since Spider-lover, Man's Gwen Stacy, died in the last pages of The Amazing Spider-Man #121 – a tragedy that forever transformed comic book history and was probably Marvel's first acknowledgment that superheroes can't rescue everyone. But what if she wasn't really dead? In an alternative reality, what if Peter Parker died and Gwen Stacy became a kickass superhero with all of Spider-skills Man's plus a lot more angst?

Given that the weight of Gwen's body may increase to approximately 10 times its force while falling at such heights, Spider-Man was just too far away to rescue her - a half-second pause on someone falling at 95 miles per hour might easily shatter their neck. In contrast, Kakalios emphasizes the safety precautions and distances that skydivers and bungee jumpers take while performing their sport, as well as how airbags in automobiles deploy in an accident. So, regrettably, Peter Parker did take Gwen Stacy's life, even if she would have died anyway if he hadn't intervened. On a brighter note, many subsequent writers have made a point of emphasizing that Spider-Man learned from this mistake, and he now arrests falls with multiple points of contact or web-nets, implying that not only did the scene draw from real-life science, but so did Spider-solutions Man's in subsequent stories.

Nakamura was that buddy, it quickly became evident. He and Kent are the newest, but far from the first, LGBTQ characters in the DC world. Earlier this year, Tim Drake, one of Batman's numerous Robins, accepted a date from a male admirer. Before Kent and Drake, there was Batwoman, also known as Kate Kane, who was once punished for her relationship with another woman under the US militarys former Dont Ask, Dont Tell policy; Harley Quinn, who has recently abandoned the Joker in favor of her friend Poison Ivy; and transgender scientist Victoria October, who made her debut in a 2017 Batman series.

So there you have it, Gwen-fans! Another story arc and volume of your favorite interdimensional adventure concludes. You may be wondering, "What's next for Gwen Stacy?" Is she truly going to trust the Storm siblings with her reality? How about the Jackal? She still has to return him to his home reality!
